Sustainability report

The natural consequence of Fondazione Fiera Milano’s decision to be a “foundation for development”, was to provide a report of its own activities in a social report, which was adopted in 2001.
The Fiera Milano Group published its first Sustainability Report this year, a much more daring and demanding task, because such a diversified organization was involved in a joint and homogeneous project, touching on the very crux of the concept of a company business.
Having adopted leading international standards (GRI-Global Reporting Initiative) will allow Fiera Milano SpA in particular, which is listed on the Stock Exchange, to give analysts a more detailed report rather than mere economic and financial figures. The integration of the information contained in the balance sheets with that of the Sustainability Reports – that are sent out together --will certainly offer a more in-depth picture of our work and the ways of our company.

The report is divided into

  • One volume that presents the entire Group, compares the figures for all the companies in a “big chart”, analyzes the sustainability of the three companies (their “maturity matrix”) and recommends improvements that could be made, which are the outcome of joint efforts.
  • Three volumes, one for each of the three companies, that analyze their specific features. This is precisely where the important meritorious results emerge, especially the eco-sustainability of the exhibition infrastructure, which in many ways is in the forefront on the international scene, and the social responsibility of a Group which, since the very outset, has worked closely with the territory and the country’s manufacturing sector.

The future objectives that emerge from this first report, while daring and demanding, are certainly feasible, because there is a stronger and more widespread sense of awareness.
