Milan’s new exhibition system is presented at the Modern Art Gallery in Rome. The meeting is chaired by Bruno Vespa and the participants – in addition to Chairman and CEO Luigi Roth and SSF Managing Director Claudio Artusi – include Infrastructure and Transport Minister Pietro Lunardi, the Deputy Mayor of Rome Mariapia Garavaglia, Astaldi Managing Director Vittorio Di Paola, Adriano De Maio from Luiss Guido Carli University, and architect Massimiliano Fuksas.

Est-ovest Lombarda: i punti cardinali dello sviluppo (East-West Lombardy: the key points to development). Territorial conference in three steps - Brescia, Milan, Rho – organized by Fondazione Fiera Milano to present some of the research projects commissioned to Università Statale Bicocca and Università Luigi Bocconi, the A.A.Ster Consortium, the Polytechnic of Milan and the Poliedro Research Institute.

The La Milano che vorrei competition for Zone 8 middle schools organized by Fondazione FieraMilano and sponsored by the Milan Administration Services Center, the Land Development Office at the Milan City Council and the Council for Zone 8. The competition is for students from middle schools in Zone 8 – approx. 8,000 – asking them to “fill with ideas” the more than 250,000 square meters of the historical exhibition complex being sold.

Handing over of Master’s diplomas in Realizzazione di sistemi territoriali complessi (Creation of complex territorial systems) promoted by FFM and ASERI (Higher School of Economics and International Relations at Cattolica University in Milano).

The project for the new exhibition complex and the redevelopment of the existing city complex are presented at “Milano in movimento: la Città e l’Ottagono” (Milan on the move: the City and the Octagon).

President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi visits the newly-renovated FFM premises. Architect Massimiliano Fuksas explains the state of work in a video link with the construction site of the new complex, where the first pylons are being erected.

The redevelopment project is presented at Mipim in Cannes.

FFM and SSF take the project for the redevelopment of Fiera’s existing exhibition grounds to Progetto città, an exhibition of architecture, town planning, technologies and services for the development of the territory at the Milanese exhibition complex.
