Activities with schools

The   Fondazione Research Service has launched an Educational Project in high schools in the Rho district to create a sense of awareness about Fiera Milano among young people. This is achieved by providing information on the socio-economic impact of the new Fieramilano exhibition complex and especially on how this differs from the impact of the manufacturing industry (which young people are more familiar with). The focus was to explain, in an understandable and interactive way, the impact of an exhibition complex on the surrounding territory; another goal was to have students think about projects in the territory that could promote the establishment of an exhibition complex, but most importantly, that could drive local economic and social development. A total of approx. 5,000 students took part in these activities over a 4-year period: they will be the future players in the territory.

2009
First semester 2009, 11 meetings at a school with 595 students.

2008

19 meetings in schools with 1,125 students, with a visit to Fiera by 42 students on 21 April.

2007
17 schools visited, for a total of 1,020 students, 8 guided tours of the exhibition complex with 375 students entering into direct contact with exhibition activities. Overall, 1,395 students took part in these meetings.

2006
In April 2006, Fondazione Fiera Milano staged the Concorso Scuole (Schools Competition), which attracted more than 300 students from 8 schools in the Rho area. The young people were asked to complete all the sections of the www.fieramilanoedintorni.it website, imagining it as a tool at the service of exhibitors and visitors and providing useful information for a stay in the Rho area. As the same time, the students attended a course on web editing. Activities at middle and high schools continued with a cycle of meetings on “Conoscere Fiera Milano”(Getting to know Fiera Milan). The cycle of “Conoscere Fiera Milano” meetings included the visit to 6 schools with more than 700 students from technical institutes and high schools. The students were taken on guided tours during exhibitions, where theoretical knowledge about Fiera was integrated by a discovery of the “economic venue”. Approx. 250 students took part.
