Economic and Territorial Observatory: in operation since 2000

The Economic and Territorial Observatory (OET) was established in 2000 with the intent of defining the role of Fiera Milano as a highly-qualified observatory of the Italian economy. This involves using a sample of companies and professional visitors attending Fiera Milano exhibitions. Information is regularly collected from the people who normally attend exhibitions in Milan: exhibiting companies, visiting companies, and consumers. As the name indicates, there are two goals: the first is to analyze the economic cycle and the second to examine the relationship of Fiera Milano facilities with the territory. The respondent sample represents each of the three targets. A total of 10,000 interviews are carried out each year, 5,000 with exhibiting companies, approx. 4,000 with visiting companies and the remainder with consumers.
