Milan, September 10, 2020 – Enrico Pazzali, Chairman of Fondazione Fiera Milano (FFM) and Jongcheel IM, President of Samsung SDS Europe (SDSE) signed a memorandum of understanding relating to the digitalisation of hospitality services at a property owned by Fondazione Fiera Milano in the fieramilanocity area of Milan, which for the purpose of future projects is currently referred to as “Scarampo Hotel”.
As part of the investments approved under the Industrial Plan for 2020-2022, Fondazione Fiera Milano has launched a project for the construction of approximately 120-180 rooms in the Scarampo Hotel. The project will support the conferences and events held at MiCo Milano Convention Centre and the fieramilanocity exhibition centre in Portello, adding value to the customer experience at the Fiera Milano and enhancing its customer services.
This project is the latest step in the redevelopment of the north west area of the City of Milan, started in 2002 with the construction of the fieramilano venue and then led to the subsequent renewal of the Trade Fair area of the city, which in the last 15 years has undergone a massive, futuristic transformation.
Under this memorandum of understanding, Samsung SDS Europe has proposed a number of technological solutions for the digitalisation of hotel services, through:
1. Innovations in the customer experience by supplying front office digital services based on digital signage and mobile devices.
2. The optimization of back office services through solutions and integrations to the Hotel's digital operating platform.
3. Simultaneous promotion of environmentally sustainable investments.
In accordance with stage 1 of the memorandum of understanding, by November 2020, SDSE will issue a concept design for the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) hardware and software for Scarampo Hotel.
The arrangement will also entail the development of subsequent stages, which will be subject to the timeline for the construction of FFM's hotel.
