miart 2019 also confirmed for this edition Fondazione Fiera Milano's acquisition fund

Milan 22 January 2019 – Fondazione Fiera Milano has also confirmed its support for Miart 2019 through its own acquisition fund. An initiative which is inspired by the Foundation’s role in many areas including culture; the Foundation is a key player in the development of the local area and the trade fair system.

Within this perspective, at Gallerie d’Italia in Piazza Scala in Milan, Fondazione Fiera Milano is organising an exhibition of a selection of artworks taken from its own collection. The works will be displayed from mid-March to mid-May. The entire collection is kept in our historic site at the Palazzina degli Orafi in Largo Domodossola, and can be viewed in a dedicated section of the website at www.fondazionefieramilano.it

The Foundation’s commitment to Miart is a further acknowledgement of the fact that the fair has become one of the key international events for the sector: an international Fair of modern and contemporary art which also represents a strong draw for Milan. 

Uttering these words, for the twenty fourth edition of the International modern and contemporary art fair in Milan, Giovanni Gorno Tempini, the President of Fondazione Fiera Milano, confirmed a budget of 100,000 Euro for its Acquisition Fund. Through this fund, Fondazione Fiera Milano acquires modern and contemporary artworks from amongst the Miart stands to further enhance the Foundation’s collection.

The international profile of the jury which this year will assist the President of Fondazione Fiera Milano and President of the Jury, Giovanni Gorno Tempini, to select the artworks to acquire, comprises: Sarah Cosulich, Artistic Director of the Quadriennale in Rome, Matthias Mühling, Director of Lenbachhaus, Munich and Ernestine White, Curator for Contemporary Art (South African National Gallery), Iziko Museums of South Africa, Cape Town
