The research director of the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) and professor at the University of Montreal. He is a pioneer in media art and design. From interactive portraits to visual immersion systems, he has developed innovative approaches that have earned him prestigious acknowledgements such as the Grand Prix of the ICC Biennale 1997 in Tokyo and the Award of Distinction and numerous mentions of honor at the Prix Ars Electronica in Linz (Austria), an exhibition at MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York and attendance at WIRED NextFest (the exhibition of the future sponsored by Wired). Luc Courchesne is a professor at the University of Montreal, a founding member and current research director of the Society for Art and Technology and a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts.
