When fieramilano began operating, Fondazione Fiera Milano downsized its presence, by giving two thirds of the Milan exhibition complex – 255,000 square meters - to CityLife when it won the international competition to carry out the large-scale urban redevelopment project.

The city exhibition area, includes the pavilions designed by Mario Bellini and was built at the end of the 90’s in the Portello area. The buildings offer 43,000 square meters of exhibition space for events that take up less room or for which the city location is preferred because of the type of goods to be displayed there.
