The Ente Autonomo Fiera Internazionale di Milano, established and set up under Royal Decree dated 1 July 1922, operates as a private foundation.
Article No. 1 of the Fondazione Fiera Milano Articles of Association
Fondazione Fiera Milano has been one of the first driving forces of Milan’s economic and urban development, and in this capacity, in 2002, it initiated the construction of the FieraMilano complex in Rho while also beginning the redevelopment of the historical exhibition complex in Milan.
Fondazione Fiera Milano currently owns Fiera Milano, fieramilanocity, and Mi-Co Milano Congressi. Located in Milan, the latter is one of Europe’s greatest and most modern conference venues, working for the promotion and organisation of national and international events and initiatives always harmoniously connected to the local context.
Fondazione Fiera Milano also includes a Research Service department, an Academy, and Historical Archives – three important resources that the Fiera Milano Group, as well as other corporations operating in the fair and public sectors can access for the development of cultural projects and social and economic research.
For its present and future initiatives, Fondazione Fiera Milano sets out to operate as a proactive shareholder and an institutional investor: two strategic objectives that will further qualify its role.
As proactive shareholder, Fondazione Fiera Milano intends to strengthen the role of Fiera Milano Spa, through a series of investments to increase national and international competitiveness as well as to improve the sustainability of its exhibition-congress facilities. The Mi-Co conference venue has in fact become an ever more appealing factor for Milan, putting the city on the map of the world’s greatest international convention destinations.
As institutional investor, Fondazione Fiera Milano will implement its long-term investments while also providing support to exhibition and congress activities in order to enhance the territory through initiatives of venture philanthropy in specific sectors, including services for the community, scientific research, art, culture, and sport.
