The Ente Autonomo Fiera Internazionale di Milano, established and set up under Royal Decree dated 1 July 1922, operates as a private foundation.

Fondazione Fiera Milano was set up in 2000 to support, promote and guide the development of the exhibition facility and to lead the transformation of Milan’s exhibition-conference system into a more modern, and updated one that would also be competitive internationally.
A private foundation, and the majority shareholder in the Fiera Milano Spa group, it is Italy’s leading exhibition and conference organizer.
Fondazione Fiera Milano carries out non-profit functions of general interest, and fosters, promotes and increases the organization of events and exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
It owns all the exhibition and conference assets of Gruppo Fiera Milano: the fieramilano complex, hotel, and head offices at Rho-Pero, and MiCo-Milano Congressi, which was built in the pavilions of the historical exhibition complex in Milan.
Fondazione Fiera Milano places its Research Service, Academy and Historical Archives at the service of the Fiera Milano Group and companies working in the exhibition sector.
In agreement with the institutions, from 2006 on Fondazione played a leading role in the Expo 2015 Promotion Committee in support of Milan. On 3 July 2012 Fondazione Fiera Milano became one of the shareholders in Arexpo Spa, the company entrusted with managing and upgrading the areas that hosted Expo 2015.
