Fondazione Fiera Milano acquires majority interest in Villa Erba SpA
Milan, March 7, 2002 – The Executive Committee of Fondazione Fiera Milano resolved to pay in its €1.5 million share to increase the capital of Villa Erba SpA to €18.8 million.
By doing so, Fondazione Fiera Milano has become the majority shareholder in Villa Erba, with a 24% interest.
The news was announced by Chairman and CEO of Fondazione Fiera Milano, Luigi Roth, who pointed out that the multi-year plan launched in 1999 by Villa Erba had been fully complied with, and added that the expectations for future development of the company are promising.
Villa Erba, located in Cernobbio, on Lake Como, is the ideal venue for high-level meetings. With a capacity of up to 1,300 people, exhibits, conventions, and congresses can all be elegantly hosted within the transparent pavilions of this modern, circular building.
The complex offers a net surface exhibition area of 6,500 sq. m, divided into 280 stands in a built area of more than 11,000 sq. m.
During the year 2002, Villa Erba will be the venue for about 40 events. President of the company is Marco Ambrosini.
