Fondazione Fiera Milano’s Peraboni Deputy Chairman of the UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry

Milan, 15 November 2011 – Corrado Peraboni, General Manager of Fondazione Fiera Milano since 2000 has been appointed the Deputy World Chairman of the UFI. The appointment became official at the 78th UFI Congress in Valencia on 9-12 November 2011. The other Deputy Chairmen of the organization are from Russia, China, Holland, Belgium, Kuwait and Columbia.

Already elected first Deputy Chairman of the European Chapter after obtaining the highest number of votes among the candidates, Corrado Peraboni is also one of the members of the Executive Committee and has been on the UFI Board of Directors since 2001.
 

Another important appointment was announced at the Valencia Congress, that of Enrica Baccini, who heads Fondazione Fiera Milano’s Development & Study Bureau and becomes Chairperson of the Educational Committee.

UFI -The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry - was established in 1925 in Milano to promote cooperation among the various exhibition authorities and to revitalize the sector after the end of the First World War. The UFI is considered a veritable mark of international quality in the exhibition industry. Its members include 291 organizers, 189 exhibition centers and 49 associations, for a total of 565 members from 84 countries, representing more than 4,500 exhibitions overall.

To better carry out its mission, the UFI has established Regional Chapters for Europe, Africa, Asia & Australia. Each has the task of promoting new projects for its area and bringing the most innovative proposals for worldwide cooperation to the executive committee. To promote the exchange of experience and knowledge on topics of common interest, working groups have been created on specific topics: Associations, Training, ICT, Marketing, Operations and Sustainable Development.
