The Italian Exhibition Report is the result of the collaboration among the Research & Development department of Fondazione Fiera Milano, the Research & Development department of Confindustria and CFI – Comitato Fiere Industria, aggregate partner of Confindustria, and it showcases the most international trade shows of the Italian market. The report picks up the baton of a work of data collection and analysis carried out for many years by the Exhibition Observatory of Bocconi University. The aim is to raise awareness on an important sector of the economy, tightly linked to the dynamics of manufacturing and export, that is both the result of the success of companies and the determining factor of their performance.
Therefore, the collaboration among these three stakeholders aims to restore continuity to the production of information and research on the exhibition industry. The positioning of Italian trade shows is observed both in general terms and in specific terms with a focus on sectors of Made in Italy with the highest export, to offer an interpretation of the phenomenon and the development of policies for the exhibition industry.
L’Italia delle fiere internazionali (Italian Exhibition Report) is the first edition of the economic-scientific report that analyses the close link between the economy of a country and its exhibition system. An inside look on the changes of the exhibition ecosystem, that is built on the importance of face-to-face relations, and questions the opportunities of the integration with digital, which have emerged strongly since the beginning of the pandemic. Starting from this first edition, the analysis about Italy integrates a comparison among European countries, with a focus on the four major countries with a strong exhibition culture – Italy, Germany, France and Spain- , and the United States.
