With a century of showcasing fashion shows, bustling runways, trendsetting previews, commerce, exhibitions, and bespoke events, Fiera Milano undeniably reigns supreme as the heart of Italian fashion.
The commitment began as early as 1924, dedicating a pavilion exclusively to presentations of nascent Italian fashion and French haute couture.
In 1936, Fiera Milano expanded its reach, adding a second pavilion to the Fashion Theater. This new space incorporated the entire textile and clothing, providing a comprehensive view of the industry under the guidance of the newly established National Fashion Board.

Michele Masneri writes, in a lively article devoted to the history of plastic, that in the postwar period it "wrapped the Italian industrial-identity boom like delicious packaging."
